Ayurveda, the ancient medical science
has been accepting challenges from diverse fields. Although
its origin is in India, it was subjected to different
tests by our own people. But last decade has made this
science more popular than ever before resulting in more
Challenges. The major challenge what we perceive is that
which has direct link with its existence. This is non
availability of genuine raw material. Because of deforestation
and apathy on part of our people, lots of medicinal plants
are on the verge of extinction.
We believe that standardization of raw material is possible
if efforts are made right from identification of herbs
and confirmation of botanical species rather than uniformity
in the end product. |

Our Centre today is a platform for
sharing knowledge and experience. Our efforts are appreciated
by the Pharma companies who need genuine raw material.
Ayurvedic Doctors (vaidyas) interested in traditional
practise often place an order for single drug and combination
from the texts. They describe it as result oriented.
Farmers in Vidarbha are in dire need of supplementary
income. We are trying to facilitate link between pharmaceuticals
and farmers. Our interest is in supplying genuine fresh
material.
We have an indigenously developed Medicinal Plant Garden
in which more than 300 no. of species are available today. |

Dr. Vrunda
Kate
The Chief Promoter, Dr. Vrunda Kate (BAMS.MHA.) had worked
for more than three years in the field of surveying and
identifying medicinal plants in Marathwada region and
had established Nursery which was a success. During
the period she had been able to establish good rapport
with the consumers, mainly Pharmaceutical manufactures.
Her success story impressed many people around Nagpur
and she was approached to replicate the project in Vidarbha
region.. |
